Sapori D'Italia in Fountain Hills offers a sit-down Italian dining experience grounded in fresh ingredients and classic recipes. Nestled just off the Scottsdale outskirts, this spot appeals to locals and visitors looking for a relaxed yet refined meal that doesn't rush through its courses. Its location along N Saguaro Blvd benefits from the town’s scenic desert backdrop, making it a comfortable stop whether you're winding down after a stroll or seeking a neighborhood restaurant that balances casual with a touch of elegance.

The restaurant centers around wood-fired pizzas and traditional Italian plates, with a menu that features well-known dishes like Margherita pizza and more indulgent options such as Veal Parmigiana and Linguini Pescatore. Diners often mention enjoying the preparation of food like the chicken marsala and various seafood choices, which come fresh and thoughtfully plated. The pizza crusts receive nods for their crispness, often highlighted during busy happy hour periods where the bar seating fills quickly. From fresh salads with seasonal fruit to a sampler platter of appetizers like calamari and toasted ravioli, the food runs the gamut from light to hearty.

Atmosphere-wise, Sapori D'Italia feels lively yet inviting. It is a popular spot especially off-season when seating is easier to come by, and the wood-fired oven commandingly glows at the bar—a draw in itself for those who enjoy watching their meal prepared. Service tends to be warm and attentive, with certain staff members standing out for their friendliness and knowledge, making guests feel not just fed but genuinely welcomed. Though some visitors encounter mixed first impressions, the overall rapport between staff and diners leans toward personable and accommodating, helping to smooth out any early awkwardness.

This Italian restaurant works well for a variety of dining occasions: a casual date night, a small group gathering, or an early supper planned around their notably good happy hour. The drinks menu includes house sangrias and well-crafted cocktails that pair nicely with the savory courses. It can be a solid choice when you want to enjoy quality Italian fare in a setting that balances low-key charm with the vibrancy of Fountain Hills’ local dining scene.

We really enjoyed our visit to Sapori D’Italia! The food was so tasty and fresh. The area in Fountain Hills is beautiful and has such a nice atmosphere. Our waiter, Violet, was amazing! She was very kind, friendly, and helpful. She made our visit pleasant and something we will remember. I highly recommend this place for good food, a lovely setting, and great service.

Had a very weird "greeting " from who we think is the owner that was initially off-putting. The rest of the staff (hostes, bartender and server) were great. The Owner later came over to our table and tried to warm us up to her which was appreciated. The happy hour outings and prices were very good. Liked the meatballs, calamari and drinks a lot. Fried ravioli was OK but a bit dry. Our server was quick, attentive and engaging. The dinner menu looked really good but we only were having apps and plan to go back.

Driven by many times and its always to busy in season to stop. Last week, I stopped on my way home (off season). I'm glad I did. Ordered Mista salad $15, and linguine with clams in white sauce. $25.. the ingredients were fresh and high quality. I was impressed. Service was as expected and I tipped accordingly. Clams were little necks, served in shell over pasta in white wine sauce. The only criticism would be to much wine and not enough butter to balance and needed a little salt. Otherwise very good. Salad had Mediterranean olives and sweet onions arugula and flavorful tomatoes.. I'll be back for the specials.

Updated: June 3, 2025 visit Back again for Happy Hour and an early supper (because once you know the magic that happens at 4 PM, you plan your whole day around it). Snagged our favorite bar seats, because honestly—watching the wood-fired oven do its thing is half the fun. Started with the Dell'Orto salad—spring mix piled high with cherry tomatoes, juicy strawberries, fresh orange slices, raspberries, and dried cranberries. It was like a farmers market in a bowl, and yes, I felt totally proud of myself about how fresh and healthy it was. But who was I really kidding since I knew the lemon blueberry cheesecake was in my future...again! No judging! Then came the main event: chicken fettuccine Alfredo with just a little Cajun kick—because our favorite waiter, Natan J (seriously, he’s the best), knows exactly what to recommend because he takes the time to ask about preferences! The Italian vibe? Still charming. The staff? Still friendly. The food? Still fresh, flavorful, and comfort in every bite. Basically, Sapori is still my go-to for a midweek mood boost and a full belly. May 27, 2025 visit We popped into Sapori D’Italia right at opening time—4:00 PM sharp—because we had one goal: snag a seat at the bar for Happy Hour and soak up all that Italian goodness. Mission accomplished. And for me, sitting at the bar here is a whole experience. You’re front row for the wood-fired oven magic show—pizzas bubbling, bread baking, and the air filled with that glorious mix of garlic, herbs, and a little something that just whispers, you’re about to eat well. Seriously, who doesn't love dinner and a show! Natan J was our server, and he was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly, but what really impressed me was how thoughtful he was with his suggestions. He didn’t just rattle off the specials—he asked what we were in the mood for, and then gave detailed reasons why we’d love each dish. Love that. He's definitely my favorite! From the Happy Hour menu, we went with the fried ravioli with marinara (crispy little pillows of happiness) and the spaghetti and meatballs—comfort food done right. I am obsessed with this simple but oh so flavorful dish!! And at $14 for both the spaghetti and meatballs, it is definitely worth that Happy Hour price. Then we jumped over to the weekly specials and tried the Cajun Fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli. Wow. Creamy, not too spicy, just the right kick of Cajun flavor. It was one of those dishes where you’re already planning your next visit just so you can order it again. And yes, I even loved the broccoli in this dish! Dessert? Cue the dramatic music. Cheesecake. Two kinds. Mixed berry and chocolate raspberry. Both were rich, creamy, and completely decadent. Definitely big enough to share—or, let’s be honest, I am not sharing but I am saving some for later to enjoy the yumminess all over again. The whole place has this great neighborhood feel. Small, cozy, warm lighting, and you can tell the staff genuinely cares. Service was on point—attentive without being overbearing. Already counting down the days until our next visit. If you haven’t been yet, go. But maybe don’t tell too many people—I still want to be able to get a seat at the bar

I would give this closer to 4.5, but the rating system doesn't let me. Service we received from Pearl was superbly executed. From sitting us down, introducing herself, to being knowledgeable and very friendly! The food was so delicious and plenty served on the plate! Only slight issue was the pasta needed to be a bit hotter. Otherwise just shy of a perfect experience. Highly recommend eating here, we know we will definitely be back! In fact have already recommend to several friends and family!

A rare 5 stars all the way through. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean, warm, and inviting atmosphere. Brick oven on full display behind the granite slab bar with an older gentleman working a counter prepping pizza pies with fresh ingredients. The place was buzzing with what looked like locals. Everyone seemed to know everyone else, including the staff. First name basis stuff. The scent of resh flatbread filled the air. The chicken parm? Wonderful.
